I know the question is stupid, but I want to know whether there is any big difference between using all functions on the TTN website and setting up The Things Stack on the server yourself?
Will self installed servers have more autonomy?
The Things Stack is the next generation so you will have the newest features (which will be coming to the community network next year). However you won’t be part of the community network and will not get traffic from other gateways, nor contribute to the community network. You will have to manage the stack yourself (which is not rocket science but not trivial either). You won’t have all the integrations available either.
