Hello, I have a gateway location A which has been decommissioned. I have another location, location B, where the gateway has stopped working. My plan is to delete the EUI at location A, then place it into location B and amend the CUPs secret on the gateway so that we can keep the naming convention etc.
The problem is deleting the EUI from location A is that as soon as I amend the EUI, the save changes just spins and spins. Until I am able to release that EUI, I cannot use it at location B.
I have done this more than few times before so I know the method works but I was wondering if there is something that I’m missing (likely!) or whether there is a glitch in the matrix…
Are you talking of deleting EUI’s or GW-ID’s? Given you refer to naming conventions unsure. Generally recommendation is edit details vs full monty delete where possible. If need to change GW-ID to reflect say a location change as part of a move/relocation (I often embbed part of post code or location short form as a quick visual assist when viewing lists of gws) then indeed as immutable and not reusable then deletion only option but then can’t reuse other name either! ….perhaps add a sequence number/letter to differentiate? Wrt stalled process using console or cli to delete/amend? If one method stalled have you tried the other?
I don’t think you can delete the EUI, I tried some time ago and the old UI silently failed. Try setting it to something like FFFFFFF1. Or the EUI of something else you own that won’t be used on TTN (for instance your laptops MAC with FFFE inserted in the middle).
Through the GUI, location A has the naming convention of gc-ccbc-llannefydd and currently the EUI of 00800000A0005DEA. This site is being mothballed but may be resurrected in the future so I want to keep the name. However, I need to reallocate the hardware.
Location B has the name of gc-ccbc-llangernyw (yes, we are in Wales and there’s a few Llans knocking about) and currently the EUI of 00800000A0005DEB. This hardware is currently defective, needs replacing and I want to keep the name as the locations are community based.
Via the GUI, even if I delete or change the EUI of Location A (Llannefydd) so that it is free within the system to reallocate to Location B, the save changes button just spins. This happens before I even click the button and I interact with the GUI in a different way, eg delete the EUI and click elsewhere on the form to enter details on the Gateway description. The button starts spinning before I even interact with it.
Hi everyone, I used the CLI and it worked faultlessly. Just to verify, I have gone back to the GUI to see if I can make another change eg Required Authenticated Connection and go to enable that - I just get the spinning Save Changes button.
