TTN Gateway Operational Information

This is a suggestion for TTN improvements for gateways owners and users to support operational information.

Gateway owners should be able to associate a simple text operations comment that appears on the TTN map. An example is “Gateway will be offline 2017-06-29 20:00 UTC for one hour for maintenance”. This comment should be shown on the TTN map popup with the other gateway information when the gateway icon is clicked.
Any registered user should be able to note interest in specific gateways and be sent an email if the gateway comment changes.
Gateway owners and users who have registered an interest should be sent an email when the gateway status changes connected/not-connected, etc.

This is just a suggestion as use of TTN becomes more serious, critical, etc. Please feel to dismiss.

I like it. In general we should become better in communicating operational information about the network. I think the first step would be to publish the “live” status of components (gateways as well as network servers). After we have something good for that, it will be easy to add “planned maintenance” or similar functionality.
