TTIG is not connecting to wifi

Hello everyone.

My name is Paulo and I am a rookie with lora yet. Maybe some of you already discussed the problem I’m gonna describe in the following lines and whether the answer is yes, guide me to the right topic please.

I have a TTIG that does not connect to wifi. The wifi (I think) is not the problem because I have others connected to the same router/network.

I’ve tried claming it about 4-5 times and the green led doens’t change its behavior of trying to connect to wifi.

Claiming is irrelevant until you have it on WiFi.

Do a hard reset, set it up on WiFi as per instructions and leave it alone to see how it responds,

If it does not connect to WiFi, then try another router or a smartphone as a local access point.

Anything else until it is on WiFi is pointless.

It looks to be stuck in a config/boot loop. It connects to WiFi ok and grabs IP address under DHCP - 192.168.0.12. It seems to connect ok to the Semtech CUPS server, with valid Tracknet Certs and seems to then pull the config file. Something wrong at that point with a fatal exception and either a block of garbage or then re-booting and debug port showing garbage until it fully boots and settles. Not sure if the

Is a clue - is device booting with a default date/time stamp and not connecting to a NTP server to correct then causing it to barf if Tracknet cert is valid 2018-2024 I wonder…

Paging @KrishnaIyerEaswaran2 Krishna for possible assistance. EUI looks to be 58-A0-CB-FF-FE-80-31-45 and a quick check on old V2 shows no historic prior registration and nothing current on V3 under /gateway-data/gateway/eui-58a0cbfffe803145… do you see any activity on the server?

Is EUI captured and typed correctly @suportemetosbrasil ?

Is MB-Oficina on a business network with any restrictions - which may also be applied to a work phone.

As Jeff says, it is going to struggle with https until it has a proper date & time.

@descartes it is a business network without any restrictions. All gateways I’ve configured I use this network and this is the only gateway that does not connect so far. Moreover I took it to home to test using my home network and got the same response as well.

Are any of this group of “All” that are TTIGs?

Can you do a hard reset of the TTIG so that if there is anything in the config that’s stopping it getting the date & time may be cleared out.

@descartes is the reset question to “all” that are ttig or it was to me? Whether it is to me, is the reset you are saying by pressing reset button for 5 seconds?

Suspect Nick is trying to establish if, as you seem to have more than one GW, any others are TTIG’s…if they are and on same network and configured/working correctly may suggest that specific TTIG has a problem…

As Jeff says, you said “All gateways” and I’m asking you, the owner of a number of gateways, if any of the group you describe as “All” are TTIGs. Because as Jeff says, if you have one or more working TTIGs, then this one may have an issue.

As to how to do a hard reset, you’ll have to bear with me until I get hold of a manual.

Clearly not, otherwise you’d have told us if any of your other gateways are TTIGs.

I think the TTIG manual is online if you want to have a peek yourself - I’m on mobile so not feasible for me to look it up for you …

I am so sorry @descartes there was a misunderstanding on my part… yes, when I say “all” gateways, I am saying I am using only TTIG.

In that case if all the others (how many by the way?) were set up and worked fine on the same network initially - even if later deployed elsewhere - then conclusion would be that the one specific TTIG has a problem. Either you have have mis-typed something in setting it up or it has pulled a corrupt config file from the CUPS server - hence need to hard reset, delete from Console and restart/reclaim from fresh, or there is a hardware or firmware defect in the unit…so reset, reclaim and start again and if still failing contact the supplier and request a return/replacement. Though failed devices are very unusual and I have seen Krishna/TTI team ask if a defective unit might be sent to them for more detailed investigation, so maybe again. There have also been a few instances where the unit have been bought through a channel where the device wasnt set up/assigned to TTI for claiming on the 3rd party server - as the units are a generic OEM/ODM build until assigned - which resulted in a claiming issue, but that doesnt seem to be problem here on the face of it. …am still nervous of the corruption/garbage seen in logs during cycle and wodner if perhaps that is another clue…but lets get you through that hard reset/reclaim process before we jump to conclusions…

Until you’ve done a hard reset, I don’t think there’s much to say - it will need to be time accurate to use https.
