How smart can an edge device be?
Hear from Massimo Sacchi - Business Developer, Arduino AG, Jordan Hagan, Mohamed Khalil and Ben Thurgood - AWS
More and more low power AI capable devices are coming to market, and the prices are falling. There are good reasons to deploy edges, and good reasons not to. A hybrid solution is probably the answer.

If you want to gain a better understanding of LoraWan and TTN then Brian Danilko from Likeable Software in the Tech Stream has the answer.
Brian will present a tutorial on three, often misunderstood, areas of LoRAWAN, and shows the data traffic between nodes and gateways, to better understand the whole process. It covers the following areas:
- the two methods of joining — and what keys are exchanged
- the AU915 and AS923 data plans and how they work, and
- the insides of Adaptive Data Rate

Make sure you don’t miss hearing Heath Rafterey from Newie Ventures talk in the Smart Cities stream In defence of things
The Internet of Things brings the dramatic potential of modern software to the sleepy world of Things. In the rush to animate the physical world around us, one unsuspecting element of that physical world often gets neglected: Things. This presentation draws upon a long history of service to Things – doors, houses, posters, fences, cars and even cows, cats and ultimately, humans. From this perspective it becomes clear that the Internet of Things time and again suffers from a lack of empathy with Things.
