Nam1 ttn sandbox using expensive aws us-west-1 region?

Sort of random question, but I noticed that the ttn us sandbox, nam1, seems to be hosted in AWS region us-west-1 (northern california).
This is strange to me, as us-west-1 is the most expensive (by around 20-25% more for services) vs the other “big three” AWS US regions (us-west-2 [oregon], us-east-2 [ohio], us-east-1 [virginia]).

I’m curious if TTN has plans to move or migrate this (US sandbox) to a cheaper US region (like Oregon or Ohio). I guess I have no idea what the nam1 sandbox infrastructure even looks like. I.e. if it’s just a few servers, then the costs may not matter that much overall (e.g. in the hundreds of $ per month).
