I use a Dragino LGT-92 for mapping, does it make a difference if I use ABP or OTAA. I noticed that at higher speeds the OTAA join takes too long and you can be out of range of the gateway again.

Firstly it could be worth doing some reading on the two activation methods - there is no join process for ABP as credentials are coded into the device so it just transmits (uplink) - OTAA joins are a handshake process and so need successful uplink/downlink steps, the further away from a gateway the harder it can be as the device will need to receive data from a gateway too.
Remote devices by their very nature are remote and can be out of range - ABP can be useful in mapping as it does not require the join step.
Hello,
thank you, that was my thought as well, but I wanted confirmation. I’ll try ABP mode and see if it’s better.
