Title: Issue Adding End Device to Network: “Device Not Part of Device Repository”
Description: Hello,
I’m facing an issue while trying to add an end device to my network. I’m using the Dragino DLOS8N gateway and a LoRa V1.1 device, but when I attempt to add the device, I receive the following message:
“This end device is currently not part of our Device Repository.”“This device has not joined the network yet.”
I’ve ensured that both the gateway and the device are properly configured, but the end device does not appear to join the network successfully.
Here are the details:
Gateway Model: Dragino DLOS8N
Device Model: LoRa V1.1
Firmware Version: (Include firmware versions if known)
TTN Network: (Specify if you are using the public TTN network or your own)
I’ve checked the following:
The device and gateway are powered on and within range.
The LoRa device is correctly configured with the appropriate device EUI and keys.
The LoRa gateway is connected and has internet access.
Do not double post - it splits volunteers efforts and fragments answers making it harder for others to find later. Will close your other thread comment on same topic leave this one open for now this one. For ref if not a device in device repository the LNS will not know how to set e.g. decoder or LoRaWAN RP/Spec (1.02, 1.03. 1.1 etc.) - so simply follow the manual configuration options for your (unknown) device!
Also for both your posts you appear to have hijacked unrelated threads - again dont; rather search for appropriate thread or start a fresh one…is it using RadioLib?
To save making a mess of the RadioLib announcement thread I’ve moved your post to a new topic.
There is information in the template that you have not completed:
Please read the Learn section, linked at top of page, taking particular note of the End Device Activation section. Failing to join is a common issue, it comes up at least once a week on average, so there is plenty of information in the forum that you can search for about this sort of challenge.
There is so little information you are providing - just generic descriptions:
What end device - you said it wasn’t in the repository - having a manual but not repro entry seems contradictory.
To be clear, the phrase “provided on the TTN page” comes with NO warranty from us at all - the documentation is provided by TTI and the TTN forum are all volunteers.
But we can’t improve anything as we have no idea what you are referring to.
What device, using which LoRaWAN stack?
Maybe, maybe not, it may be the reason you can’t get a join - but we don’t know plan or settings you are using.
I am using the India frequency plan (IN865) and my device is a LoRa BEE V1.1. Despite carefully following the instructions and ensuring that my configurations match the TTN requirements, I am still unable to see my device on the TTN server.
I would greatly appreciate any further guidance or suggestions for troubleshooting this issue.
Firmware Version: (Include firmware versions if known)

What device, using which LoRaWAN stack? Links to both will speed up assistance.
regional settings?
What course are you doing at university?
Please do us the courtesy of carefully following the instructions given here regarding answering all the questions. Please do not ask for help each time you post until you’ve given us the information needed to help you.
I am using the default firmware provided with the LoRa BEE V1.1. (If needed, I can retrieve more specific details.)
TTN Network:
I am using the public TTN network.
Device and LoRaWAN Stack:
The device is LoRa BEE V1.1, which uses the LoRaWAN stack version 1.1. model is Quectel L80GPS
Regional Settings:
The regional frequency is set to IN865 (India). Both the device and gateway are configured accordingly.
University Project:
I have worked on a project based on LoRaWAN technology, focusing on setting up a network using TTN and configuring devices for data transmission. This current task is an extension of that work, and I’m troubleshooting the integration of the LoRa BEE V1.1 device.
Despite following the steps in the TTN manual for OTAA, my device does not appear to join the network. I would appreciate further troubleshooting suggestions.
“the default version” is not a number and I have no idea what the default firmware is. A simple link to the firmware would help
Link not working.
Oh, you’ve edited the post to this:
A GNSS is not a LW device
That’s the frequency plan not the regional settings. This sort of information is in the Learn section.
If you were asking someone in person for help, what questions do you think they’d ask? I doubt they’d say “Don’t worry, I know all the details of all the devices, there is no need for you to provide a web address for any of this, I know it already”.
Thank you for your response and feedback. I understand the need for more precise information, and I’ve outlined the details below:
Firmware Version and Link:
I am using the firmware that came pre-installed on the LoRa BEE V1.1 device. I apologize for the lack of specifics earlier. Here is the link to the LoRaWAN specification the device is based on: LoRaWAN Specification v1.1.
Device Details:
The device I’m working with is the LoRa BEE V1.1, specifically designed for LoRaWAN applications. It is not a GNSS device.
Every step will involve at least one post and response and as ever with novice user 20 questions sessions it will take forever and more importantly I will find that I see a new update in the main list of forum posts that will then drive me to open it, wait for it to load, scan and ignore or respond as appropriate - I try to read every post! Life is too short
Also we are not his Uni tutors here to hold hands and solve his homework!
Best is we silence for 24hrs then give OP chance to go off and compile a full list of info repeatedly requested, then it can be uploaded in a way that allows us to offer support and also allows OP time to go through the learn section as well as use Forum search for why devices often dont connect/join (as previously suggested) and what has been done with (various) LoRa Bees in the past.
@dragino_123 A device is more than a LoRa radio/modem - it is a control processor (typically on an embedded mcu board e.g. arduino based, and associated firmware and wiring/mounting arrangements. We still know nothing about your device. Provide links to all as used and include links to any source - do not just give a description like LoRa BEE v1.1 (I assume from that and your user name its one from Dragino but we cant be sure!) - link to everything, do not expect volunteers to go searching for you. Also confirm basics like is the device Radio/modem and the GW the correct unit for your target frequency plan (and regional settings). LoRa Bee v1.1 sounds like a hardware revision, where you call out a link to a L-A LoRaWAN s/w stack revision - they are likely not the same/related. The Stack would run on the associated embedded MCU. (Link to source of stack?) Where the Quectel device is called out are you attempting to use that to control the LoRa modem/transceiver? etc.
As Nick says think about what question we will ask, and what is required to advise. On elession is there is likely no such thing as a ‘default version’ - if you think there is then again link to it
Detail what you have tried, what happened, what ‘values’ do you see, what error messages do you get (read them carefully the answer is often included there!). Output from e.g. serial links (text - formatted, not impages where you can).
The point being rather than drip-feeding you, me, Nick or whoever the key info needed to help a user with a problem, gather what is available/needed/been tried/failed, to make life simpler easier and get to ‘solved’ faster - the fact is the debug will largely be step wise with a few occational parallel paths but it all starts with decent starting info as has been stated over the years over many threads and as has been called out to OP earlier, with limited effective (as in completeness and accuracy) response so far…hence my comment
