Custom code on RN2484

It’s been a while since Microchip released the source code for the RN2483 (Microchip released RN2483 library code)

Today I did some searching on and outside this board, but didn’t find much reference to projects that are actually using custom code on an RN2483. I am wondering why? Since the RN2483 is such a populair module, it really surprises that there are so few projects with custom code.

One thing I came across a couple of times is that it breaks the certification of the module. Since many people are using an uncertified modules like the Hope RF9x, this cannot be the only reason.

Is it because many people simply don’t want to lay their hands on PIC programming? Or are the capabilities of the PIC18F46K22 simply too limited for serious applications?
