Have you considered the new gateway that was announced at the conference earlier this week? The TTIG is a few years old and harder to get hold of.

Paying an annual fee for this gateway is a NO GO

I guess you don’t need to travel to manage those gateways? And your time is free?

I understand the sentiment when dealing with amateur gateways, however for commercial deployments the annual cost make sense and are negligible. Having to pay someone for gateway maintenance and travel time is a lot more expensive.

And if you need a cellular backhaul it’s very possibly the deal of the century - all you can uplink data, roaming SIM, a 1A USB adapter is more than sufficient to run it, remote access as outlined above.

And even if you have local WiFi or Ethernet, when someone in the department of WiFi password changing dept or Ethernet unplugging, the cellular will run as backup.

Interesting debate, in. that case I would rather go for a sensecap M2 with cellular connectivity. I would then choose my own data plan (local data plan in a country should be lower than an international roaming plan of the ttig v2) and it is possible to have remote access via VPN.
No, an annual fee is not for me.
