Hi Rob, I’m also beekeeper and builded scales my self for beehives. for the hives near my house i’m using wifi, but for the hives in katwijk i want to use lora . I’m searching where, how etc in otherwords what to do to connect to lora network. can you point me in right direction. regards, Peter
I’ve moved this from the topic about the future of TTN in The Netherlands as your post is not about that, it just hooks in to one of the uses that the OP make of LoRaWAN - so a topic hijack with a tenuous link.
If you read the copious number of topics on beekeeping & hives on here, you will be able to start your own topic - you need to read for more than 5m and look at more than 2 topics & 12 posts. However I’ve done that for you now.
The TL;DR: versions of how to get started is to read the forum & particularly the Learn section linked at the top of the page. We don’t do LoRa, this forum is all about LoRaWAN.
If you have multiple hives, using BLE to LoRaWAN is cost effective.
Hi Peter, you can contact me directly. Rob
Hi Rob i was looking where i could do that but cannot find wher to send you direct message.
regards, Peter
Click on persons name, click message.
Which may not be active yet because you’ve not spent enough time browsing the forum.
And if you read the Learn section & the existing topics, you’ll be able to hit the ground running with Rob …
For beekeepers perhaps interesting to look at Beep.nl
They have & offer working examples of beehive remote monitoring applying Lora(WAN):
oriented towards Dutch applications (with english textversion selectable via icon in upper righthand corner).
At their Helpdesk has some information howto link to LoraWAN
Once you get hold of the data, as next step a user application is by your own imagination:
example display from a near station from a user looking in combination at meteo, fruit and bees.
