I’m looking for a gateway (non-diy) to use in the car/as a mobile gateway.
Therefore it shouldn’t eat too much power and accept a low input voltage (12V is fine I guess).
Does anyone know or have tested suitable gateways?
If you wan’t to go mobile you need and the LoRa-gateway and a G3-4 backhaul uplink.
for power you get every thing powered from your Car.
A good pice off hardware is a Pi, with two board on it like this from RAK
Haven’t done my own tests yet but indications are the new (old) Things Indoor GW is low power and runs off 5V USB…easy to use an in car adapter or fix voltage reg. Also from experience I know the Laird RG1xx series (I use RG186 in UK) is quite low power and will easily run of 5-12V (make sure you regulate/filter cars 12V as it will spike much higher!). Other wise if you do go DIY with either iMST or RAK concentrators try to use RPi 0W or RPi2 if you want lowest power vs 3B/3B+!
