Abeeway Micro Tracker

Hi All

I am trying to get one of the above devices to report only GPS Data.
I have set
geoloc_sensor 0x05 to 01
geoloc_method 0x06 to 01.

Yet I am still receiving WiFi data for Positional data.

I have taken the device outside, and I would think plenty far enough from any WiFi AP’s.

Are there any other Parameters I should be looking as well?

Thank You
Chris

Hi BoRRoZ
I already have that document, that’s where I Id’d the two parameters I’ve changed to be GPS only. Just needed to read further down the document …

Have now also followed the GPS example config, in section 7.
Infers we’ll get GPS Updates every 5 minutes, whether moving or stationary*
This config has gone on correctly, as I’ve queried it to check.
The Operational Mode used is reported in the packet header

Set the SOS Mode to On, and the positional data is returned as WiFi, and the Op Mode is Permanent Tracking. - is this a feature of the SOS Mode?
transmits what it can ‘see’ - ie it’s indoors, on a window ledge and GPS Satellites are ‘visible’, so therefore defaults to WiFi, regardless of the required and downloaded config

Turn off the SOS Mode. Leave on Window Ledge.
Heartbeats are received, ~ 5 min apart
No GPS positional uplink packets received- see * above

Take Device out in the car for a short trip.
We got GPS position data.

Back indoors, reverted to WiFi position data.

Hope this helps someone else

Have you seen this note in section 4.1 (page 6):

Whatever the chosen geolocation policy, the first position is always a WIFI one, sent immediately
after the beginning of the motion.

I have heard that this is how the abeeway tracker works to optimize power consumption. I also know that they have created custom firmware to avoid that for some customers.

You should reach Abeeway support and see their answer.

Hi,
I got abeeway Microtracker but unable to get any data, I did the connection with TTN but its just giving me “Accept join-request” and “forward join-accept message” in live data, where as I was able to do the configuration and get nearby beacon data from dragino. so can you tell me what are the payload values which i should set to get the near by ble beacon data from abeeway microtracker? or am I missing something here?

thanks for the help.

How far away from the gateway is the micro-tracker?

Its near around 10 meters.

A bit close your RSSi could be a bit high, try to have a brick wall between you and the gateway, you need to have the RSSI down to -70 region, after all it is long range teck, not WiFi

Actually I have moved it around from 10meters to 100meters, but got the same output,
can you tell me what kind of downlink payload I should use to get data? because I couldn’t find any specific document from abeeway on this part.

Thanks for the response.

Firs do you have a successful join?

Search the forum I posted the decoder some time back.

You also need to set the tracker correctly via down links.

I Have two MicroTrackers for testing, One is giving me the forward uplink data message MAC Payload: 033C00A809196032B13AA0F6DC003192010D70C4C01173E2722BC3889D9804F5E2C3
So the join is successful right?
Also how can I decode this?

And the downlink you are talking about is from Messaging right? what payload should I use in that?

Do a search on the forum, did you do it? With 10min reading all will be revealed.
