What's the scope for EU433 in 2020?

Hi

In the LoRaWAN Regional Parameters 1.1 revB, EU433 is to be supported/certified/approved in many countries. Which shows great potential for the EU433 band

Still the market is very bare for EU433 devices and gateways. also TTN Community v2 doesn’t support it yet (does v3?)

What do you guys think will happen in 2020? Are we to see more devices in EU433? Is there a reason why this band is less popular? Does it under-performs compare to EU868 and US915?

I am unfortunate enough to live in a country were LoRaWAN is not yet approved, and when they will finally approve it it will probably be EU433 and US915-917 ( I am in Israel). So we are looking for devices we can import here without having to do firmware changes.

there’s a lot of CN470-510 GWs from Chinese manufacturers, and these ones can be used for EU433.

Lower TX power, less channels… Much more noize in most countries.

I belive you anyhow will need pass something like the MoC certification? And so, most probably, will need to change something in firmware.
