Reading has loads of food options. If you fancy something you won’t get anywhere else then here are three local institutions:
Sweeney Todd on Castle Street - if you like a pie, this is THE place to go. Ignore the menu, the waitress will read you a ridiculously long list of pies which is much more fun to choose from.
Clays Hyderbad - hands down the best modern Indian restaurant in town.
The Bakery House - doesn’t look like much, but fantastic Lebanese food.
Alternatively @jmarcelino could always try this - > …Jose if you set off on the A1(M) Sat a.m. you might get there for Sunday night beers!
There doesnt seem to be anything set up for Sunday night before start of Conf in same way as Norwich last year - that was a good ice breaker and meet/greet session for folk ahead of the event. …I did ask Emily in an email if anything set…
I’ll be there as I’m volunteering. Not staying in Reading as I live nearby so will be commuting each day.
Andrew
Seeing as you asked nicely @Jeff-UK - I’ll book something for Sunday evening and post the details here this afternoon.
Cheers, Mark
PRE-CONFERENCE GATHERING tonight !
I have reserved us an area near the bar in Zero Degrees from 6pm on Sunday evening.
Zero Degrees brews its own beer and serves a wide range of food.
It is nice and central so should be good for everyone who fancies meeting up the evening before the conference.
Hope to see you there!
Mark
Nice! Hopefully we’ll be in town by then, so I’ll head over!
Wish I could attend, work is keeping me away - maybe next year!!
Looking very much forward to this one. My talk is going to be about all the the mistakes we made across the last 4 years so you don’t have to make them. Curious how this is going to be received.
Bear in mind its only a two day conference.
Hindsight can be a cruel tutor! Very brave…focus on the positives and any key learnings from mistakes made. Every mistake or mistep is an opportunity to learn
Looking forward to the session (and Conf)
For sure!
Will this be available on video for the rest of the world after the conference? We want to learn as wel…
