OTAA join takes hours when trying to register 20 devices simultaneously

Hi,

For a training course on the internet of objects I use 20 STM32 B-L072-LRWAN1 ( FP-ATR-LORA1 ) kits with a SX1301 raspberry based starter kit gateway. The 20 kits try to connect in OTAA with ADR OFF ( DR_4 ) but it takes a lot of time. It took 2 hours for all the kits to connect, is this normal? How can I speed up the join request because I can’t wait 2 hours for practical work.

For locations with a duty cycle limit the worse issue is the gateway running out of airtime. Had that problem a couple of times while running workshops.

Only work around is to deploy more gateways (people attending a workshop won’t wait even if asked to)
