The first LoRaWAN gateway in Thatcham was installed in August 2015 and has only recently joined The Things Network. The gateway is a MultiTech Conduit AEP that has been reconfigured to pass LoRa packets to The Things Network LoRa server. The first sensor is being developed using the MutliTech mDot LoRa module. Current testing has shown that we can achieve a range of at least 1.2Km around town although this does depend on a number of factors. More works is currently being done on sensors, test software and gateways.
