Good afternoon!
I'm a senior lecturer at Whitireia Polytechnic. Since 2013 I have been undertaking various research projects that involve radio (RF) transmissions in New Zealand native bush. This started with evaluation of consumer WiFi in Zealandia. I supervised field research there by a successful Masters student. (Short version of the conclusion to his thesis "At any distance greater than 10 metres, 802.11n can transfer more data than 802.11ac.")
Over the past two years or so I've been looking at sensor networks, and set up my first LoRa gateway there just after lockdown this year (in July 2020). I expect to be spending some more time on this from next month (November 2020), and am considering using gateway(s) to TTN to improve the gateway performance.
Would any of you in the Wellington TTN community like to have a chat about this, perhaps help me get started?
