We are on a mission to provide the entire city with an open LoRaWAN network, owned and operated by its users. The community consists of people with different backgrounds and expertise including designers, developers, engineers and entrepreneurs. Most members of the core team come from the Wireless Communities in Thessaloniki.
Back in the day, when the wireless community networks started developing in Greece (2001-2002), we made a big WAN in our city networking our homes using rooftop antennas and wifi equipment/routers/servers. The motivation back then was high speeds and the difficulty, the visual contact between the nodes.
After creating wifi community networks, it's time for a Wide Area network for Internet of Things :)
