[AGJN] Freifunker of Freifunk Rhein-Sieg e.V. installed a LoRaWAN gateway on the roof of the district and labor court in Siegburg. This means that three LoRaWAN gateways from Freifunk Rhein-Sieg e.V. have been online in the region since June. The test operation is now complete and the stable installation on the roof is now permanently delivering data to the cloud. In addition to the existing Freifunk installation, sensor data received from LoRaWAN nodes (sensors) are now also transmitted via the Freifunk network (keyword: Smart City, IoT, etc.). For this, the Freifunker use the servers of the community network TTN (the things network). When looking at this picture, one can guess which area will be covered by this gateway in the future. In addition, you can see several Freifunk routers in the picture. which supply the area around the district and labor court in Siegburg with Freifunk WLAN.

Damit sind nun seit Juni drei LoRaWAN Gateways des Freifunk Rhein-Sieg e.V. in der Region online. Der Testbetrieb ist nun abgeschlossen und die stabile Installation auf dem Dach liefert ab sofort permanent Daten in die Cloud. Neben der bereits vorhandenen Freifunk-Installation werden nun auch Sensordaten, die von LoRaWAN-Nodes (Sensoren) empfangen werden, über das Freifunk-Netz ausgeleitet (Stichwort: Smart City, IoT etc.). Dafür nutzen die Freifunker die Server des Gemeinschaftsnetzwerks TTN (the things network). Beim Blick auf diese Aufnahme ist zu erahnen, welcher Bereich zukünftig durch diesen Gateway abgedeckt werden wird. Zusätzlich kann man auf dem Bild mehrere Freifunk-Router erkennen. die das Umfeld des Amts- und Arbeitsgerichtes in Siegburg mit Freifunk-WLAN versorgen.
