A few days ago, I ordered a TTN gateway from the good folks at TTN, and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival. In the meantime, I am experimenting with another LoRa IoT starter kit to learn how to setup a simple gateway plus remote sensor network. I believe that by the time the TTN gateway arrives at my door, I will have a good basic understanding of how I will deploy the first TTN gateway in the Phoenix area!
