We are super excited to bring The Things Network (TTN) to Cyprus, starting from Nicosia.
This community initiative is powered by CyRIC (Cyprus Research and Innovation Center Ltd, www.cyric.eu), a fast growing company with a strategic aim to become an important regional center developing disruptive products and providing unique high quality services to industry and Academia. CyRIC offers Research and Innovation services in the fields of engineering design and prototyping, electronics and communications and software solutions, as well as specialised consultancy and entrepreneurship sevices to Startups, SMEs and Universities.
The Things Network (TTN) is a crowdsourced city-wide Internet of Things (IoT) data network using a new technology named LoraWAN™.
The technology allows for things to talk to the internet without 3G or WiFi. So no WiFi codes and no mobile subscriptions. It features low battery usage, long range and low bandwidth.
CyRIC Engineering team has joined TTN and is currently planning deployment of the first TT N gateway in Cyprus, starting from Nicosia.
