The Things Network Maastricht facilitates students of Zuyd university of applied sciences in one of their first LoRa projects.
Through a LoRaWAN gateway students connect at The Things Network with their smart emergency exit lighting node. This node provides information about the status of the lights and their maintenance . With Node-RED they create and examine the flow and gather data.
Beside this, they building a stand alone LoRa Mesh network, where node to node communication is used to adjust a lightplan on basis of eg light intensity or defective lamps.
All nodes are based on the Arduino Leonardo with a selfmade LoRa shield with the RN2483 chip.
We keep you informed about the progress.
