Early days right now. However, we have a LoRaWAN gateway now installed in Henry Street and there appears to be another planned around Clancy Strand.
LoRaWAN is a very young technology that should allow anyone to put "things" on the Internet. We're talking temperature sensors, weather stations in your back yard, digital signage, bicycle trackers, etc. And the really good thing? There are no subscription or monthly fees to pay.
If you would like to add a node (e.g. a temperature sensor), you don't need to get my permission - just do it but make sure you are within range of a gateway. Also make sure you are using the 868MHz band.
If you would like to set up additional gateways, would love to hear from you. Don't worry about what looks like overlapping coverage on the TTN map....the more the merrier.
