The Chicago community is known for its theater, its musical calendar, its diverse landscape of restaurants and clubs, its flourishing galleries and museums, its active sports scene, its dynamic architecture and now we want to help prepare our community for continued success with this city-wide network that will enable Internet of Things (IoT), machine-to-machine (M2M), smart city and industrial applications. Let's build Chicago's role as a global Internet of Things development hub and bring the benefits to every neighborhood by providing a free citywide IoT data network to make the entire city an IoT sandbox/laboratory.

It will take active support from the business community and the neighborhoods to make this dream a reality. Let's get to work!

Goals –
1. Cover the Chicago metropolitan area with LoRaWAN gateways.
2. Encourage and support development of use cases for cities, businesses and education using the network.
3. Serve as a model for other US cities and communities who want to open source connect to The Things Network.
