Why not start with writing an update and share the existence of The Things Network community in your area. You can mention the plans and other action steps too.

The Things Network has an active forum space that allows people to discuss anything related to the network. it is is a great place to find other contributors and start discussing the setup of a community. You can create a new topic under the category: Campaigns with the name of your community. Write a first post in this topic to announce your existence and to find people who are interested in contributing.

Have a look at The Things Network Amsterdam Twitter as an example. We have some guidelines for Twitter accounts:
- Write out "TheThingsNetwork" in your Twitter name (for example TheThingsNetworkAms)
- Use "TTN" for the Twitter Handle (for example: TTN_Amsterdam)
- You can use the logo shown in the community page as your profile picture

Connect gateways
Create coverage by connecting gateways.
The Things Network is currently developing their own gateways which will be in retail near the end of this year. You can pre-order these affordable gateways in the shop already.
You probably don't want to wait that long. Happily, The Things Network supports different kinds of gateways like the Multitech, Kerlink and Lorank. You can even build your own gateway.
In case you already have a gateway, you can add it to the map.
COMMUNICATION CHANNEL
Create a channel to communicate internally.
In order to communicate internally, we highly recommend you to create a Slack group. It is a free messaging app that helps organizing your team conversation and allows you to directly reach out to members.
You can also use other ways of communication, as long as you make sure people have easy access to join the conversation.

Congratulations! You have completed all the activities. It's time to kick-off The Things Network Bruchsal and become an official community!
We would like to invite you to organize a launch event which is open for anyone to join. An open event is a great way to attract new contributors to the community and provides an opportunity to involve local press which helps in spreading the story of The Things Network even further.
You can find some tips for organizing a great event here.

We recommend you to use Meetup for organizing the event. Other platforms like Eventbrite or Facebook can also be used as long as you make sure people can easily find and sign up for the event.
Have you set a date and found a location? Please inform us about it because Wienke, Johan, Rish or Laurens would love to (virtually) join the event. Please keep us up to date by sending a message.

Welcome to The Things Network
Unser Ziel ist es, die Region Bruchsal mit dem The Things Network zu verbinden. Die Erreichbarkeit wollen wir durch Gateways in allen Stadteilen verbessern.
Bei gemeinsamen Treffen tauschen wir uns über alles rund um das Thema Internet of Things aus, basteln und helfen uns gegenseitig bei unseren Projekten.
Und Projekte gibt es viele, wie beispielsweise die Erfassung von Bach- und Flusspegelständen, der Füllstände von
Regenwasserzisternen, der Bodenfeuchte zur Steuerung der Bewässerung, des Gewichts von Bienenstöcken zur Schwarmerkennung und vieles mehr.
Wir freuen uns auf neue Mitglieder und den Austausch untereinander.
Our goal is to connect the City of Bruchsal with the The Things Network by providing gateways in all disticts and boroughs.
In community meetings we discuss everything concerning the Internet of Things, build new projects and help each other.
And there are a lot of petential projects to explore, like measuring the water levels of streams, rain water cisterns, the soil humidity to control the irrigation, the weight of a bee hive to detect that a swarm left, and much more.
We look forward to new members and the exchange of ideas.
