We had a great meeting at Barclays Eagle Labs in Brighton on Tuesday evening. The main focus was on choosing initial demo projects, to demonstrate 'proof of concept'.
The hot favourites so far are Air Quality/Pollution monitoring, Urban Farming, and Building Monitoring. There are also some niche proposals, such as monitoring a tortoise in a vivarium and keeping an eye on the windspeed along Brighton seefront ( a boon to cyclists! ).
Over the next few weeks we will start to create project briefs to explore these ideas further, then we will rollout the base stations and get building our projects. Finding partners for the project will be another area of focus, as will be developing a media strategy to publicise our efforts.
