Our regular meetups take place +/- monthly, usually at the back or Atelier of the Effinger Kaffeebar. Sometimes we invite our community to do a tour or take part in a Hacknight in the region of Bern. If you have good ideas for a future meet-up somewhere in the canton, please get in touch!

What do we do at our events? Along with some nodes and sensors, we will have connectivity and helping hands for anyone who wants to try to build their first TTN application - if there are beginners present, we will do a brief introduction. We will check the status of nearby gateways, update TTN Mapper (going for a short walk to collect data), share the latest news in Open Hardware, takeaways from community workshops and conferences - a comfy show & share chitchat about the world's friendlist open sensor network.

* If you speak another language, please bring a payload formatter ;-)
** There is no cover charge, but you are welcome to make a donation to our host, which is also a non-profit association, or just buy a round.

What is TTN all about?

The TTN Bern meetup is a regular occasion to build a free radio network for Internet of Things (IoT) projects in the Bern area. We use the open source technology stack provided by The Things Network (TTN) to run LoRaWAN gateways for communications, usually with sensor nodes, and aim to create new IoT applications together. Our local group is made up of passionate amateurs and professionals who believe in and uphold the responsible use of open networks.

How to connect with us

We are using Slack to connect with the Swiss-wide community. Join us in the #ttn-bern channel, and drop us a line if you have any requests or questions. If you need an account, use this invite link.

🩵 Our events are free, but please consider supporting our activities by becoming an ONIA member, which promotes and helps govern the TTN community in Switzerland.
